I promised myself that I wasn’t going to start this post harping about the weather, so I won’t!
Let’s start with plans for the weekend instead. Since yesterday evening, I’ve had this undeniable urge to start work on our master bedroom. When I did my homework, our bedroom was the one room that really didn’t fit with the rest of the house and as you know I like coherency and the idea of a total vision. So, I’m going to start the transformation. My goal this weekend is to fine tune the look I’m going for, choose some new paint colours, and figure out how much money I’m willing to spend. I’ll take a look around the house and see what I can repurpose and what we already have. Hopefully, on Monday I’ll have a few things to show you to let you in on the process. (Can I just say, I am so lucky to have a husband who indulges me in these flights of decorating fancy – in fact, he may be my enabler!)
In other business, yesterday I dropped off my oculus to the mirror store (thanks Kristen S. for the Cascade Crystal suggestion) and should have some news in the next few weeks on its progress.
I’ll admit that I haven’t had a lot of time to spend looking at blogs this week but I noticed this post awhile back and it has stuck with me. Monika over at Style Made Simple, basically took one photograph she liked from a magazine and analyzed all the layers. So smart! She really breaks the room down into all of its components and shows how they work together.
What are you up to this weekend? Anyone else itching to change things up in their home?
I thought I would leave you with some photos from photographer David Giles. It’s a bit of a diverse mix but I bet you will find something to love in each one of them.

Looking forward to seeing your results!
@ overfed annie This morning, I woke up, wondering what I have gotten myself into! Oh well, that’s the beauty of having a blog once you put it out there, there is no going back!
I just stumbled upon your blog today and wanted to say how much I like it! Your house looks great!
Can’t wait to see what you do to master bedroom – how exciting. It’s always great to have projects like that. Love the pictures and the blog you’ve recommended, fascinating when people are able to analyse how a room works. I for one find it really tough to try and make things come together…
OMG, love that pink coffee table. I realized this week that I almost always have pink in my interiors, be it a little or a lot. Have a good productive weekend!
