hgtv moodboard – kelly green

4

About ten years ago, my husband was working with a photographer in Vancouver and they landed a job that found them shooting in California. Of course, they had to stay at the the hippest place at the time which was the newly opened Santa Monica Viceroy designed by Kelly Wearstler. When Myles came home with photos I couldn’t believe my eyes. At the time, that look was so new, fresh and exciting. Wearstler’s bold use of Kelly Green and Canary Yellow paired with black and white was particularly striking.

When the fine folks over at HGTV asked me to come up with a moodboard that celebrated Kelly Green I couldn’t help but think of that hotel. To find out how you can make this vibrant, spring worthy shade of green work for you head over to HGTV and take a read!

how to work with neutrals

5

Dedicated readers, I’m asking you to hop across the internet with me today over to HGTV. I’ve put together a lovely moodboard for them all about working with neutrals. If you know my house than you know I’m a big fan of layering texture over texture over texture. This is one of the keys to working with a neutral colour scheme.

If you love the room above, I think you’ll like the moodboard. Come on over!

fall moodboard

3

It’s happening…I noticed it for the first time this weekend – the leaves are starting to turn. Autumn is on it’s way.

It only makes sense that Fall’s fashion palette is inspired by the colours we see outdoors; the rich bordeaux and burnt sienna of changing leaves, the chambray blue of October skies and the rich brown of wet rocks and tree bark.

Can you imagine how this palette could translate to your home? Not to worry if you can’t!  I’ve created a moodboard for you to use as a jumping off point for maybe a bedroom or even a living room. You’ll just have to pop over to HGTV – Style Sheet to see it! Come on over!
