time for tea towels

Bookhou is one of those magical, inspirational ateliers where you wish you could take one of everything! The Toronto studio, made up of husband and wife team John Booth and Arounna Khounnoraj, has been making beautifully crafted objects in wood, textiles, and paper since 2002. I visited their online store today and saw this lovely tea towel. I think it is the perfect tea towel for The Marion House. I just love its depiction of a typical Toronto Victorian row house. While I am all for using beautiful objects for everyday use I might just have to buy a few of these so that I can put one on my wall and use the rest for dishes.

Framing tea towels is a quick and easy way to add a bit of art to your kitchen. Check out this example from Canadian House and Home using a Third Drawer Down tea towel.

Or this one from Door Sixteen using a Marimekko tea towel. Instant art!
