In December, Myles, Harry and I all celebrated a birthday. Yup, three birthdays in one month. We decided that instead of throwing three separate parties each year we would host one big annual bash. For our inaugural celebration we decided on a stripe theme. Striped invitations, striped food, striped candy, striped decorations and of course stripe clad guests!
We set up a "photo booth" in the kitchen to capture the day. Here is a picture of Harry and I being stand-ins while Myles sets up the camera.
Below are some pictures of the dessert and food table. Finding striped food was a little difficult so I had to get creative with the presentation. We were lucky to find a striped popcorn container and lots of different striped candies and cookies. I also pulled out all of my Origo plates designed by Alfredo Haberli for iittala. I love these plates and use them whenever I can.
No party would be complete without a birthday cake and what a cake we had! My friend, Sarah offered to make something and of course I said yes. She wouldn't tell me anything about it only that it would go with the theme. As I cut into the cake and pulled out the first piece I couldn't believe it - the cake had 14 layers! She made 14 individual cakes! Amazing...
