In our near future, we are probably going to have to put a carpet runner on our stairs. Painted treads are just too slippery for little feet. I always thought I would put a sisal runner edged in black on them, kind of like in this picture...
but recently I have seen some very interesting alternatives; everything from graphic patterned carpets to felt to patchwork kilims. Check out these stair runners....
