easy summery place card

Friends, I'm super, super busy right now. I have a feeling the summer is going to shoot by in an instant. People keep asking me if I'm going away at all this season and other than a few small road trips (NYC today (!!), the Finger Lakes in August for a weekend) I'm pretty much staying put.  With friends jetting off to cottages and facebook updates from people here and there it's enough to give me a bit of wanderlust. That's one of the reason's why I love this easy place card idea. Postcard-Place-Setting-August-13-p130The idea is to use vintage postcards from places you would love to visit or even postcards from places you picked up along your last trip and address them with the names of your guests. Add in a gingham napkin and a flowery tablecloth and you have an instant summer place setting. A great way to get the conversation flowing about places you would like to visit or memorable trips you have taken in the past.

{By the way, this amazing idea came from Chelsea Fuss over at Frolic! She did it for Project Wedding and we picked it up for the magazine! I love the way all of these wonderful projects get around.}
