cool ways to use paint

For the last couple of weeks, I've been touring around Toronto area, Home Depot's offering free paint advice with CIL paints. I've met some really interesting people and seen some fabulous in-process projects. While soft neutrals are still the most popular choice many people have been asking me about beautiful saturated hues.

I love this editorial spread that Australian magazine Inside Out did where they took one living room and one bedroom and styled it two separate ways. In my opinion, it was the wall colour that made the biggest difference. Take a look:

What a difference from soft and soothing to happy and bright. In both cases, I love how they painted the wall above the mantel in a different shade.

Again, a simple change of wall colour and a few accessories and the space looks completely different.

Which room if your favourite?
