Sun, glorious sun - what a difference it makes! It seemed like all of Toronto emerged onto the streets and into the parks this weekend. The promise of summer all of sudden seemed true. We spent Saturday night with friends enjoying drinks and food outside (the most amazing flatbread topped with caramelized onions, goat cheese and pomegranate seeds) and the sounds of parties could be heard all around Parkdale.
On Sunday, I had the pleasure of attending an event at Shopgirls Boutique trying on some Yoga Jeans (and pretty much everything else in the store!) I walked away with this dress for an upcoming wedding, this jumpsuit in black, a Michelle Ross necklace and these jeans. If you haven't been to Shopgirls, you really must stop by. The philosophy behind the store is to shop your body shape not your size which makes so much sense. Michelle, the owner, and her entire staff are so knowledgable and helpful and provide hands-on assistance in making sure you look your absolute best. Plus all the designers are Canadian.
In the afternoon, I headed further west down to Queen Street to Coriander Girl where I was lucky to participate in a Peony Workshop led by Alison Westlake (owner of Coriander Girl - you can check out her stunning rural church turned home here) and my good friend, Sarah Nixon of My Luscious Backyard. I'll have a full post on this experience in a couple weeks but suggest you run to the website to book yourself into any spots they might have remaining in their upcoming flower workshops.
Finally, I put some of the Farrow & Ball colours for our main rooms up on the walls. From left to right, they are Pigeon, Mole's Breath, Mizzle and Purbeck Stone.
I need to live with them a bit longer and see them during different times of the day before I make up my mind. I have to admit I'm a bit nervous. It will be a big change for our house. Give me courage!
