all in a week

I feel a little bit like this week might be the calm before the storm. Before you know it we will be in full blown Holiday mode with parties to attend, presents to buy, cookies to bake, eggnog to drink and gingerbread houses to make. Everywhere you look the signs of the festive season are upon us. Personally, I’m taking this last week of November to just slow down a bit, take it all in and gear up for what is possibly the busiest month of the year! Are you ready?

Last Friday, the Dickens photo shoot I styled for The Globe Style Advisor came out. I absolutely love the dreamy, quiet Christmas morning feel of the photographs by Mark Peckmezian. I find so many Christmas stories overwrought and frankly a little gaudy so it was nice to do something restrained. I’ll have some DIYs from this shoot coming up in December on the blog.

The next day the photo shoot I did for The Globe and Mail on Christmas mantel’s hit the newsstands!

One of my favorite vintage stores, Mrs . Huizenga’s moved down the street in our neighbourhood. I dropped by on the opening evening to say hello and check out the new space. Have you been?

A little corner of my kitchen. As you can see, I have no problem with my smaller plants! Thanks for all the advice you generously gave me this week on my unruly houseplants.

Lastly I styled a new moodboard for HGTV. To see the final result of how this board turned out head over here.

Saw both your Globe photo shoots this week — they’re what brought me to your website. So lovely! Images that offer mental peace and quiet beauty. Thanks!
